Visa Information for English Teachers South Korea
The ESL teachers of ‘Travel and Teach Project’ of American TESOL Institute have to get an E2 Visa for teaching in South Korea.
The documents, which will be required for getting a visa of South Korea offer, are given below.

The visa application has to given to the nearest Korean embassy with the passport and the original diploma which has to be notarized. The notary office will make a copy and stamp it as the copy of the original diploma. ATI can also help the teachers in obtaining Visa.

Police Criminal Background Check
The increasing complaints against the ESL teachers in Korea have led to this
new rule. Since December 2007, a new law has been passed to get a police
criminal record check of the ESL teachers. A medical check and a criminal
check is must for anybody who is applying for an E2 visa. An interview has
to be given by the person asking for the E 2 visa in a consulate or a
embassy.
The visa processes for Korea are not same for all the countries.
S applicants have to undergo a police background check, have it notarized by
a notary office or a lawyer and then get an APOSTILLE from the Secretary of
State, Federal Court, or any of the State Offices
Canadian applicants need to get a police background check done, have it notarized by a notary office or a lawyer and then get it notarized by the Korean Consulate.
UK applicants need to undergo either a Basic Disclosure Check or a Subject Access Check, have it notarized by a notary office or a lawyer and then get an APOSTILLE from the Home Office.
Most importantly, the name in the diploma, transcript and passport should be of same name. Passport should have a validity of six months at least and all the items have to send by a secured courier company.
